ECT. Electro-Convulsive Therapy.

ECT. Electro-Convulsive Therapy.
9/7/2012 Monday 5pm
I read Ang Hui Peng’s ECT information booklet on 7/7/2012 Saturday 8:14am.
I am disadvantaged because during my ECT in 2011 June to November NOBODY gave me any booklet to be helpful in assisting me to understand Electro-Convulsive Therapy (ECT) and the part it plays in the treatment of my illness.
As I quote and reproduce info from the ECT information booklet, I write this letter.
            Intro
I do not understand ECT is an effective mode of treatment except that it is that people are afraid to experience anaesthesia injections and waking up with headaches and memory loss that they behave themselves to get away from ECT.
What is ECT Treatment like?
ECT has been done in many countries since the 1938. 1938. This is an age-old practice. I could foresee/’pre’see it was given because people think there is something wrong with schizophrenia or mentally ill-ed human brains that they have to pass electricity through them to see some dramatic effect. Age old practice does NOT mean it has the insurance against side effects and that it is tested and proven. No. It means that it is outdated. Newer methods can be found. So why not?
Anaesthesia and muscle relaxants were introduced in 1950s. Why? Because people can’t bear to see people convulsing to electric shock given to their brains. Bodies used to move and shake uncontrollably and involuntarily till pelvic bones or bones can break before anaesthesia and muscle relaxants were introduced much later after 1938. The movie, ‘The One Who Flew Over a Cuckoo’s Nest’ or something like that depicts the scary visual very well.
It has been a very safe method of treatment especially indicated as a rapid way to get patients out of a severe condition. Getting out of a severe condition, I agree, but a very safe method, I don’t agree. Even if I agree that it gets a person out of a severe condition, it is only because that person is wiped clear of their memories and as I said: forcing themselves to behave to stop ECT. It is safe, yes, but mentally, you don’t know what it does to us. We have also a certain mortality rate after going through the procedure too! Any extensive clinical research data to justify its use should be written down in any ECT information booklet to further inform and reassure us.
ECT has been used in IMH for more than 40 years. This again does not prove that it’s age old (although yes) and proven and tested, it just means IMH have not strived to continually improve their service to a newer and not an outdated mode of treatment.
In 2011, in the month of June to November, the Staff nurse Liang at 34A thought that I needed to go to a High-Dependency ward and subsequently I was sent to 31A, a high-dependency psychiatric ward. Maybe she think I am of high dependency at that time? I wasn’t told why. But when I was at 31A, I was very high as a bipolar maniac I would talk garrulously and make friends with everyone. I was regularly eating my medicines then but somehow the doctor there, after I have stayed for a few days/weeks or so, slapped me with an ECT treatment. I wasn’t asked for my permission, my parents wasn’t asked of their permission too. So I went on ECT. First I was wheeled, on a bed, to a waiting area separated by curtains between different patients on beds. I think that waiting area was to make us sleep to escape the deafening feeling of unconsciousness when anaesthesia hits you while you are awake, because I waited for a prolonged, quite an extended period of time in that waiting area. But I didn’t sleep. And I was wheeled into the treatment room where they wiped my forehead and temples with some alcoholic solution, stamped electrodes onto my temples. I was very afraid by then. Then on my hands, and prepossedly the veins, they poked something like a needle in and slowly the doctor’s room and sights came fading away, and I went into blackness and nothingness. THAT shutting of the eye and everything turns to Black feeling is something that is very scary to me. It’s like the feeling when you are fully awake and basking in the consciousness of your surroundings, then meowed into unconsciousness and blackness. Then when I open my eyes again when I awoke I looked up to a ceiling like a hut’s. I was in bewilderment on Where Am I? God! This place doesn’t look like I’ve been here before and I didn’t know how I’ve been there. Then there were people walking around, they were seemingly Nurses, so when one came near me, I asked, Where am I? she said the ECT room. Which is actually the ECT resting room after giving shocks to my head. I was on a bed. Wow. This is crazy, make me fade into blackness and knock me out then waking up with no memory where I am? Terrifying. Then I swore to myself, when I go back to my ward at 31A, I am going to behave myself, act well, not talk so garrulously, don’t be too overfriendly, so that the doctors who review me the next time there would state that I’m well and would STOP the traumatising ECT. After I’ve got discharged from the high dependency ward back to my normal 34A ward, big chunks of my memory has gone missing. You know I used to Vlog in front of my Macbook with my guitar, playing songs that I like, THAT I forgot totally about it. That is crucial to me because I am a singer-songwriter, and I don’t know what related activities I did in the past? It was only when I went to my Youtube channel that I got a flood of memories coming back at me. Terrible? Terrible. I don’t even remember I went to Ang Mo Kio police station ??? to sue my father of molestation??? I totally can’t remember until now, it was reminded to me last Sunday when my uncle came to visit me. Today is 12/7/2012 Thursday 10:53am. Yes, it is 2012 and my ECT happened one year ago. I think my memory has been f***ed uped by ECT. No way I don’t want an ECT, no more.
Firstly, it is fear induced by the treatment that is the effective agent, and secondly, the stresses involved in the treatment cause a zombie like state in us that reduced fast thinking and aggression to low levels. The induction of a fit, which they claim to be of therapeutic level, attributed to confusion and amnesia following ECT.
Anyway, back to the ECT booklet.
Your doctor will explain to you the indication to use ECT for you. They will also explain to you the procedure, the risk and the benefits, and other alternatives that are available. If you are unable to give understand due to your mental state, your family member will be able to do this with the team doctors Ok, my doctor at High-D is a male one, and Indian. To inform you. That doctor, nope, did not explain to me the indication to use ECT for me, unless through my case manager Sarah Ann Tay that the doctor ‘thinks’ I’m too ‘high’ already. They did not explain to me the procedure, risk, benefit or alternatives available, too! Even family members of mine did not do these with the team doctors.
The doctor has not supplanted ECT by drug of proven efficacy, such as anti-psychotic drugs. They didn’t even TRY injections on me first, then put me to ECT. I wasn’t in a position of crucial self harm or a danger, to myself or others that I needed ECT for rapid improvement of my condition!
ECT is now very safe It is safe, but not safe for the brains! If you experience memory loss, something must be very wrong with the method of passing electric currents through electrodes on the scalp to give seizures and convulsions that might even cause bones to fracture if it wasn’t for the anaesthesia and muscle relaxant as our brain cells DIE due to the electric current passing through our brains. If our brain cells didn’t die like chunks and chunks of it, our MEMORIES, chunks and chunks and chunks of it will not be lost. Period.
I went for Eight sessions of ECT. I think I was put on a very high voltage.
            How does ECT work?
Current theories suggest that the seizure activity causes changes in brain chemistry which bring about an improvement of your illness AND AGITATION One line. That’s it? To explain how does ECT work? Btw, I can’t even remember I went into my friend’s house before and cause her husband to be furious with me. Just a random thought I thought about. Can’t even remember, only now. Jolts and jolts of memory comes. Anyway, one line of explanation. And the next heading comes on the next page with a following one-paragraph blank on the paper.
What I’m saying is the paper is 3/4 filled and it stops at that one line explaining how does ECT works. Some psychology done here huh. Ie People would think there’s a continuation of explanation on the next page, but on to the next page where on the top it says Privilege/Confidential information may be contained in this message. If you are not the intended recipient, please notify the sender immediately and it moves on to the next topic of ‘Who needs ECT’. Some dubious duck going on here. But ya, this is quite obvious and pickable out by me. P/S the line - Privilege/Confidential information may be.... was not placed in front of the booklet of all, why of all places place it after that one line explanation?.
Current theories suggest that the seizure activity causes changes in brain chemistry which bring about an improvement of your illness AND AGITATION. Why did I bold the And agitation?. It (ECT) can be used for various illness but I guess when they think when they see people agitated, they need ECT. Wa? Agitation might mean they need more counselling instead. Anyway, the bringing about an improvement isn’t any improvement at all, it’s just zombifying the person so you see that their ‘illness’ and ‘agitation’ is better. And that changes in brain chemistry IS ACTUALLY the DETRIORATING brain seizure cells I think.
ECT is the LAST resort that can ever be taken. And as I said, they DIDN’T even try a better drug injection, for example Paliperidone on me, but to go straight to ECT. How unfortunate was I. Damn!
Before ECT is given, there must be a clear indication for it. As it is considered a minor operative procedure under general anaesthesia, consent has to be taken. The incidence of death is also largely due to anaesthetic complications.
To date, ECT may not cause the brain cause structural damage, it has caused inner, unstructural, unseen damages.
Who needs ECT?
Some common indications for ECT are
1.    The depressed person who is not responding to other treatment or who is at increased risk for suicide.
2.    Alternatives
I would rather continue longer inpatient stay, or have higher doses of medications than ECT. Ever.
Btw, I have Bipolar mania.
So basically what I can remember is I ACTED, BEHAVED WELL after 8 sessions of ECT just to get away from ECT and to ‘prove’ to them I am ‘cured' while in actual fact I wanted to avoid being injected with knockout anaesthesia and waking up not remembering anything or even WHERE AM I. From my experience, ECT has made me lost my precious memories – yes, some things I just CAN’T remember anymore, and it made me a ZOMBIE. I merely wanted to avoid it and I ACTED well and forced myself to behave! So that’s how this age old ECT ‘cures’ you! I feel that ECT should be over and DONE with of this 50 years old treatment which has not changed passing electricity through your brain. Inhumane? You bet. I think if you approach a neurologist and ask them what does electricity do to your brain, he will tell you ‘damage’. I think, the slogan is just superficial, Loving hearts, BEAUTIFUL minds? You don’t bet. This age-old ECT service? And you still say you strive to continually improve your ‘service’ and ensure that your patients are well cared for. How do you maintain patient care as your utmost priority when our memories are going to be lost and my brain cells are damaged? How are you committed to providing healthcare of the highest quality when that practice is outdated about 50 years ago! You know it in any case they find ECT is needed for depressed persons not responding to other treatment or increased risk of suicide or mania patients not responding to medicine, it is because ECT wipes most of our memory and the patient might forget about her suicidal thoughts or a mania person their high moments. Wiping clear of our memories. This is how ECT cures us.
ECT works by inducing fear and impairing my memory and making our brain be in random electric waves so that we can’t think as before. That’s how it works.
All in all, I had a bad ECT experience and is afraid of blacking out again.

Now with the release of Minaj’s latest duet alongside B.o.B, it seems as though the star is also making her voice heard on the issue. However, the lyrics to the track actually leave the discerning listener with more questions than answers. B.o.B raps:

“I’m out of my f***ing mind, GG gally, oh my
I was doing fine, once upon a time
‘Til my brain left and it didn’t say bye
Don’t look at me wrong; I’m out of my mind
Like Nostradamus and da Vinci combined
So paranoid of espionage
I’m watching my doors and checking my blinds
My brain is on vacation, they telling me
And I’m bi-polar to disparity
And I need medication, apparently
And some electro-compulsive therapy
I am a rebel but yes I’m so militant
Still I’m eligible for disabilities
I am psychotic but there is no remedy
Still is not figurative, this is literally
If these niggas go dumb, I go to the mental facility
See, man I’m so out there, I slap fives with E.T
I don’t need a feature”

There are a number of significant references in these lyrics that correspond with methods which have been used on unsuspecting victims in Mind Control experiments. Words such as, “medication” and “electro-compulsive therapy” are particularly interesting, as these are techniques which were used during the notorious CIA-backed MK-ULTRA Mind Control experiments following the end of WWII.

From http://conspiromedia.wordpress.com/2012/05/03/the-illuminati-and-possible-mind-control-its-all-there-to-be-heard-in-the-new-nicki-minaj-b-o-b-collaboration/

B.o.B’s new album, ‘Strange Clouds.’

The renowned British-born psychiatrist, Donald Ewen Cameron was connected to this covert project. He used a combination of particularly intensive electroshock on his patients as well as partial sensory isolation. Drugs such as LSD, diazepam, heroin, morphine, MDMA, mescaline, psilocybin, scopolamine, marijuana, alcohol, sodium pentothal and ergine were administered also. Author, Fritz Springmeier and former self-confessed Mind Control victim, Cisco Wheeler claim these methods have also been used in an alleged MK-ULTRA spin-off program known as, ‘Project Monarch,’ regarded by most researchers as the principle breeding ground for future stars of the entertainment industry. In their book, ‘The Illuminati Formula Used to Create an Undetectable Mind Controlled Slave,’ they write, “stun guns, staffs with hidden electric cattle prods, and cattle prods are frequently used on the slaves (victims). Electroshock is used to create the dissociation from trauma during the programming, and later it is used to remove memories after the slave has carried out a mission, or to instil fear and obedience in a reluctant slave. The shock destroys and scrambles the memory which is still stored in the short term memory section of the brain.”

As if it’s not obvious enough, ECT is that serious.
I have received Testimony about it's irritation through Whatsapp.
