Anyway, please order beds with side fences for all patients because now I have this patient calling out for the nurse “nurse, nurse, don’t tie me” as the nurses bodily and later hand restrain her on the bed in fear of her falling after a sleep-inducing injection. If you have side fenced beds just like the other hospitals, you don’t have to restrain a patient (with ropes that is) as uncomfortable as it is, though as loosely as you tie, it is still very uncomfortable and sometimes you can’t even sleep with your body tied up. Without side fences it’s very uncomfortable and you may drop down from your bed easily too. Change the beds to those with side fence. I know it’s going to be tough cos you are going to tie patients when they are violent or distressed, with the side fences at the sides, but as long as the patient is lying down on the bed, you are able to tie the disturbed, aggressive and violent persons.
