To CEO, IMH.
- blog is a record of events. Past.
whatnursesdoinimh can be good if they r exceptional - Sister Krishnan.
- SO many foreign nurses. And r nasty. N un-understanding. AND SGH's foreign myanmar nurse was much nicer den IMH's:(
- Patients forced to sleep at night when we cant even sleep. There's no room for personal exploration and development.
- One thing I see that IMH never change - of the crisis alarm that incessantly goes off.
Eg in our IMH tour.
- God! And u say patients have to stay there LONG STAY?! OMG! Whoever takes the reign of CEO there must have a headache ah. Pardon my speech.
Cos the alarm always go DADDD! DADDD! DADDD! DADDD! We r always in an emergency situation:(
Btw, there r alot of ppl reading my blog now, ie kian how who doesnt speak out, it's abit scary.
- there are ALOT of people in IMH who NEVER or seldom say abt their mistreat in IMH. Eg Short stay, old ppl, forgiving ppl, kind ppl, ppl who ppl take advantage of, heavily drugged ppl. All kinds of ppl. My complains r justTIP OF THE ICEBERG. Eg long stay patients never get the chance.
- One disadvantage of ppl in imh- what we say, ppl will think twice or not listen to us, chuck us one side as we r 'psychos'.
To QSM, IMH./CEO
In my next admission(cross mouth), if they know I write all abt them in my exercise books i keep in IMH,
Will they take away my book?
No freedom of speech! I'm gonna turn Singapore into America! Hahaha! ;)
Btw, Im a 20+ yr old girl. Half the age of the CEO;)
- rosnah charging her phn at the end of the ward.
- we find ways to entertain ourselves that seems maniactic for a bipolar patient and they wont let us out. But it's because the environment here is too boring!!!
- stressed by beds
- all patients even unwell ones deserve better treatment
- after i came out, u dunno the BLISS i had. Ive been listening to music all day long (well, not literally.) i was practically STARVED of the good music ard. Me, as a teenager, (well, not literally, again) teenager at heart, Loves to listen to music. And I have downloaded music such that my mp3 now has 1261 songs. Not an bad feat huh? for a trapped 'teenager'. I listen to songs ranging from The Buzz to Justin Bieber which makes the everyday of my life, and every teenager can tell you that. And my age has stagnanted at age 18 teenager because that's when I started to be exposed to IMH. And it is my Uncle that first brought me into IMH. That was even before that too. The crazy 3rd uncle of mine from my father's side.
In IMH, I DARE not even try to ask the NURSE to let me call my relatives in Malaysia. Because you see, my 3rd Uncle in Singapore is an IMH maniac. But my UNCLE in Malaysia is a kind, understanding, loving and mild mannered uncle. Unlike my 3rd uncle. Who is an explosive uncle. When my mother told my Big uncle in Malaysia that I attest to that nurses in IMH, Bully patients, and I complained. My kind big uncle said "good" and he said it is because of people like me that Singapore can grow and prosper. If not for people like me, Singapore wouldn't grow and prosper. On the other extreme end, my 3rd Uncle scolds my mother's sister as "the malaysian bitches", and I have to beg him to come and see me because he is the only one living in Singapore that is more 'freer' and I was desperate.
There are people, patients who beg and persistently ask the nurses for phone calls and I see a black, an African lady Cry trying to reach people overseas. So I "stopped growing" at age 18. And I succumb to think that my maturity is up to that level before that.
Why make it such that ppl r DESPERATE to get out of IMH that their services is soo bad that we ONLY get BLISS when we jailbreak? Anyone who stays in IMH even just more than one day will go berserk. So I submit to you that it is an EXCUSE to say that "Oh, people have to have long stay, and I'll explain to you why we need long stay"
If the hospital is like your home or a hotel, I wouldn't mind. But when your hospital is like a jail/military campsite? No way!
Btw, I write long letters because even Paul wrote long letters thay edified the church While he was in prison.
Wilfully or knowingly placing or attempting to place a family member in fear of hurt;
• Causing hurt to a family member by such act which is known or ought to have been known would result in hurt;
• Wrongfully confining or restraining a family member against his will; and
• Causing continual harassment with intent to cause or knowing that it is likely to cause anguish to a family member.
Under the law, a ‘family member’ is defined as ‘a spouse or former spouse, a child (including adopted and step children), parents, parents-in-law, sibling or any other relative or incapacitated person whom the Court regards as a family member.’
There are strict laws in Singapore against family violence. Where incidences of violence have occurred in the home, the community and the government will step in to provide protection to the victims and to address the offending behaviour.
- ECT never seeked my permission.
